Bitumen
Bitumen is exclusively used as a binder in road construction and maintenance. Nepal Bitumen and Barrel Udyog Ltd. imports loose bulk Paving Bitumen of Viscosity Grade (VG) directly from the refineries which after processing with quality control and tests to meet Nepal Standard.
BITUMEN EMULSION:
Bitumen emulsions are a dispersion of very fine bitumen particles in an aqueous medium. These liquid products are functional in use and are widely popular in road construction and maintenance. Cationic bitumen emulsions have become more popular today because of their superior qualities over traditional bitumen.
Bitumen emulsions are produced as per Nepal Standard (NS) 207-2046
conforming to IS 8887-78, BS 434-1984 and ASTMD 244-83 by processing prime
quality VG10 bitumen, water and high-quality emulsifiers under controlled
production parameters such as pH, temperature, etc. The hi-tech colloid mill
with its superfine milling efficiency provides fine and narrow particle
distribution which gives the emulsion an increased storage stability and higher
viscosity. The quality of the emulsion is controlled at every step of
production and is tested in the laboratory for consistency.

CRMB (CRUMB RUBBER MOTIFIED BITUMEN)
CRMB - Crumb
rubber modified bitumen is useful and having good impact towards lifeline of
the roads flexible pavement with asphalt concrete is wide used all over the
world. It is processed by blending chemically crumb rubber with normal bitumen
which acts as a binder for aggregates is a very important ingredient which
enhances the durability life of the roads.
Multiple advantages of CRMB:
1. Higher resistance to deformation at higher temperature.
2. Lower penetration gives additional strength to roads.

These

Polymer modified bitumen (PMB) is one of the specially designed and engineered bitumen grades that is used in making pavement, roads for heavy duty traffic and home roofing solutions to withstand extreme weather conditions. PMB is a normal bitumen with added polymer, which gives it extra strength, high cohesiveness and resistance to fatigue, stripping and deformations, making it a favorable material for infrastructure.
